The Management Acceleration Program (MAP) is an expansive training program that provides Head Start/Early Head Start Directors and Managers a solid foundation of Head Start principles and management practices. MAP is a professional development journey designed to introduce and move the participant along a continuum of learning of all Head Start key areas needed for individual and grantee success.
Who is MAP designed for?
MAP is designed for Head Start management and administrative staff: Directors, Management Staff, as well as Executive Directors, Fiscal Officers, and Human Resource Managers. Priority is given to staff who have been in their current positions two years or less.
Objectives: Participants will:
1. Develop skills in using and keeping current regarding Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) as part of professional practice in delivering and monitoring Head Start services to children and families.
2. Increase awareness of program planning and its relationship to integration of services, systems, and comprehensive program management.
3. Identify key information to support the delivery of quality services for children and families, (i.e., School Readiness, Parent, Family, and Community Engagement, etc.).

Participants of the MAP Class of 2021, will have the opportunity to network and connect with other Head Start leaders from across the region, as well as engage with members of the Region VII Office of Head Start, the Region VII Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Team and the Region VII Head Start Association. Participation in this seven-week, interactive training series will include an introduction to multiple resources participants can use at the program level to advance quality improvement, as well as engage in Individual Professional Development activities and Grantee Action Planning.
